If you have been a long time resident of Milwaukie, you will remember that King Rd from 42nd to 82nd used to be a 4 lane (2 lane each direction) for several years. Due to traffic trends and accidnets, this was changed to accomidate pedestrian and bicyclists. For that reason, 42nd to Home Ave is still considered a residential zone and therefore a 25 mph zone *by Oregon Revised Statutes* unless otherwise posted. Citys have the ability to change speed zones without notifiying the State as long as the speed doesn't exceede the State recomnedation. The biggest thing is to put down your cell phones, turn down you stereo's and move your head a little bit more. Scan the area. This also means reading your speedometer too, if it is accurate. No one willing to accept responsibility anymore when they get caught red handed. Judge Gray made the correct and right decision by not repealing the citations.
